We were very busy during the final hours of the summer transfer window. As a result, we are pleased to announce a new addition to our team. Lior Einbrom, the 21-year old winger, has joined NK Maribor. The Israeli of Ethiopian descent (which is why his name is sometimes spelled Or Inbrom), who left Ashdod in the summer and signed for Gent, has now arrived at Ljudski vrt.
“We have a very busy schedule until December, which is why we’ve decided to expand our squad. We have signed a very talented player, who will be really useful and who will improve our attacking game. He’s got the attributes we need. He’s good in on one-on-one situations and he is very quick. I hope we will enjoy his performances,” is how the Sports Director Zlatko ZahoviŤ described the newcomer.
The member of the Israel national under-21 team will join his new teammates after Israel’s qualifying matches. Yesterday, their U-21 team played against Azerbaijan, and on 5 September, they will travel to Norway. This is what the player had to say upon signing the deal: “I’m really happy I’ve joined an amazing club, which we know so well in Israel. I was very surprised when my agent told me there was a chance to sign for Maribor. I immediately said yes. My dream is to play in the Champions League and fight for trophies. I’m really happy, because I’ve known about Maribor ever since Makriev joined the club I grew up in. We all admired him. He was my footballing idol. So I’ve known about Maribor since then and I’ve learned much more about the club since Sallalich and Kabha made a name for Maribor in Israel. I hope I will continue the good tradition of Israeli players in my new club and I can’t wait for my first game in front of our fantastic supporters, the Viole.”
