We have said goodbye to Ljudski vrt until the last weekend in February, and we did it with style. With our 12th championship victory which we won with a convincing advantage of 3:0.
“I think that the spectators spoke volumes with the applause they gave the boys, awarding them for the victory and for everything they've done during this part. When we are winning points, scoring goals and trying to be as successful as possible, people notice our efforts. This time around, we haven't been relaxed enough in the first half-time; it was harder for us to reach the opponent’s goal because they had a good formation. But we kept our cool, remained patient and played very well in the second half-time, scoring three goals,” said Darko Milanič after the latest in a series of efficient performances.
After 17 rounds, the last three goals bring the total count to an extraordinary number of 50 goals.
“This speaks volumes. Such is the outcome when the boys are working hard. We mostly play with four forward players; sometimes, it's harder for us to get the ball at a certain point, but we’re extremely dangerous once we've got it. If the level of the play of the opponent drops and once we begin poking holes in their defence during the game, our qualities become even more obvious and we score a lot of goals.”
Another consequence of the development of the 17th round is the fact that we are now up to +6 points in the rankings.
“A good head start is important; however, it must not lull us into giving up what we're doing. We have to keep fighting to keep the head start from teams on our tails. What we’ve done so far was excellent. Now, we must repeat it; we must not stop now. We have to keep our focus in the future in order to stay where we are. We've got 180 demanding minutes left to play away.
